While the Safer at Home order issued by Governor Tony Evers was done with COVID-19 in mind, health officials are saying it also helped slow the spread of influenza.
Granted it was nearing the end of the flu season once the order was put in place, but the drop off in cases was quite drastic compared to normal.
The CDC is reporting that more than 44,000 people have died from COVID-19 compared to the anywhere from 24,000 to 62,000 flu related deaths.
Health officials are also hoping the amped up testing capabilities will give a more accurate picture of how COVID-19 has truly impacted the U.S.
