U-S Senator Tammy Baldwin is leading a resolution celebrating today’s 50th anniversary of Earth Day and honoring its founder Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson.
Baldwins says Senator Nelson issued a call to action on April 22nd, 1970 and 20-million people mobilized their communities for the first Earth Day. The Wisconsin Democrat asked everyone to join her in carrying on Gaylord’s legacy by building the movement to take bold action on climate change.
The late Senator Nelson received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his public leadership.
