Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels
Manitowoc could soon see some return to normalcy next Monday.
Mayor Justin Nickels says talks continue on Maritime Metro Transit offering “limited service” to residents, but it would be on limited routes. Nickels also said they “will only be allowing a certain amount of people on the busses at a time.” Nickels adds routes will be more “spaced out” as well from stopping at each location every half an hour to every hour.
There’s also talk about a “limited opening” of the Lincoln Park Zoo but many city buildings remain closed. The library is one place that is remaining closed, however, they will be returning to offering curbside pickup next week Monday. The mayor said they are going to start rolling things like this out slowly because “Manitowoc County has been fortunate in our cases, where we haven’t seen any spikes.”
Use of Playground equipment and any contact sport such as football-basketball or any activity not within the social distancing guidelines under Governor Evers’ “Safer at Home Order” are strictly prohibited.
