Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature are planning to ask the state Supreme Court to block the extension of the governor’s Safer at Home order.
The announcement last Thursday extended the order through May 26th.
State Senator Alberta Darling says Governor Evers passed his authority over to the secretary of health and human services – and the secretary doesn’t have jurisdiction over the legislature.
Protests over the extension have been held at the Capitol building and at Evers’ home.
Republicans say they think the state needs to open sooner than May 26th.
