As the weather continues to warm up, more and more people are beginning to break out the grills. As was the case for a family in Green Bay, but a mishap lead to a garage fire.
The fire broke out at around 5:40 PM in the 1800 block of Sahara Drive, and when crews arrived, the entire garage was up in flames. The fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and made sure everyone was safe.
The fire was caused by the grill being too close to combustibles and caused about $120,000 in damage.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department is using this case as an example of why grillers need to make sure they are being safe when they use and store their grilling devices.
