Members of the Wisconsin Elections Commission have opened an investigation into absentee ballots which were never returned or counted in the April 7th spring elections.
The decision was made by a vote taken at a special meeting held last weekend.
It is estimated more than 135,000 absentee ballots were never returned or counted.
Usually, absentee ballots make up about 10 percent of the total votes.
Commission administrators say at least 1.1 million absentee ballots were submitted this time, representing almost 80 percent of the total participation.
