Many people in Sheboygan County became very excited when it was announced that the Ryder Cup was coming to Whistling Straits in Kohler, and those same people are now very concerned it will be canceled due to the public health emergency.
As of now that is not the case, as the US Golf Association has stated the status of the Ryder Cup is unchanged.
Many other golf championships have been canceled, including the us Open for the first time since World War II.
There are still four months between now and the Tournament, which starts on September 25th.
It is projected that the tournament will draw around 50,000 visitors each of the three days and will infuse roughly $135 million into the regional economy.
