
Charges have now been officially filed against the Kaukauna man who charged at and stabbed an Appleton Police Officer.
A report issued by the police stated that 49 year old Troy VanGrinsven had stalked the officer earlier in the day, but at around 2:15 AM, was waiting for him at the police station.
When the officer got out of his car, VanGrinsven charged at him with a knife.
The officer was stabbed, and another was injured as officers pulled VanGrinsven off of their colleague, but VanGrinsven was the one who ended up going to the hospital.
He is now facing charges of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide, Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting an Officer Causing a Soft Tissue Injury to Officer, and Resisting an Officer.
