Madison police report the body found in Lake Monona last week has been identified as a 39-year-old man who had been reported missing.
Family members said they hadn’t seen Christopher H. Blackmer since last December.
His body was found floating in the lake near the Monona Terrace last Friday afternoon.
The Dane County Medical Examiner hasn’t released an official cause of death and authorities haven’t said whether they are suspicious.
The family was worried about Blackmer because he had a medical condition.
