Just over a third of registered voters in Wisconsin cast ballots in the April 7th spring primary election. The 34-percent turnout came during the COVID-19 pandemic and a safer-at-home order. It was the highest April turnout since 2016 which included competitive Democratic and Republican presidential primaries. The Wisconsin Supreme Court race was the top draw this spring. Seventy-one percent of ballots counted were absentee. Governor Evers attempted to postpone the spring election last Tuesday but was blocked by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
