A Brillion man is behind bars after he was caught attempting to solicit sex from a minor.
Police were conducting an undercover online sex sting operation, posing as a 15-year-old girl, when they received a message from 34-year-old Brillion resident Matthew Wieting.
The duo held a conversation for about a month before Wieting attempted to meet up with the “girl” for sex.
Police arrested Wieting on charges of Using a Computer to Facilitate a Sex Crime, Soliciting an Intimate Representation from a Minor, and Violating a Health Order, as he was violating the Safer at Home order issued by the Governor.
Wieting’s bond has been set at $100,000, and he will be back in court on April 15th for a status conference.
