Public Safety Protocols are in place for today’s Election.
Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels told SeehaferNews.com that they “have tape on the floor for people to stand if lines start congregating, all six feet apart.
We have tape on the floor six feet away from our poll workers, we’re asking our poll workers not to touch any individual ID’s…we have asks and gloves and safety glasses and Lysol to clean off the voting machine after someone has used it. We are taking every precaution possible.”
Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley says they are also taking precautions. “We do have some representatives from the Wisconsin National Guard helping with monitoring at the polling places…Right now the main thing we are using them for is if there is any need to to remind people of the need for social distancing.”
State Army National Guard Troops are present at all open polling locations to compensate for a shortage of or to assist poll workers.
All ten Manitowoc and four Two Rivers polling places are open. Some District polling locations in Manitowoc have changed.
Please call City Hall if you have any questions.
Polls are open until 8 tonight but results won’t be made public until next Monday as all absentee ballots postmarked by today will count.
