Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski has hired a familiar face to an important position on his coaching staff.
Arizona assistant coach Justin Gainey is a new associate head coach for the Golden Eagles.
The official announcement was made Friday.
Gainey was Marquette’s director of baseball operations until 2017 when he left to be an assistant at Santa Clara University.
Wojciechowski calls Gainey “one of the nation’s top rising coaches,” saying he will serve the program and its players “incredibly well.”
Gainey was on the staff in Milwaukee previously for three years.
