Manitowoc’s Burger Boat Company experienced the busiest winter it’s had in a while.
Burger’s Ron Cleveringa, Vice-President in charge of Sales & Marketing, said they’re building a 98-foot commercial passenger vessel for Chicago’s First Lady Cruises, constructing a 50-foot cruiser yacht expected to be finished in August, and doing three commercial refit projects, all for Great Lakes clients.
They actually have 7 boats in their buildings including 2, 48-foot yachts delivered to owners in 2018 and 2019, that are back in the boatyard for winter maintenance & storage.
As for the rest of 2020, Cleveringa tells SeehaferNews.com he’s “optimistic” with inquiries being steady for new yachts and commercial vessels and maintenance work.
The Burger spokesman feels they had a good Miami Boat Show with potential clients showing interest & they’re exhibiting at the Palm Beach Show May 14th-17th to seek more business.
Cleveringa stated they are actively seeking to hire individuals who want to start a career as craftsmen, and that includes welders, joiners and electricians.
Current openings are for a structural engineer, draftsman and project manager. The company official said with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic Burger’s following CDC guidelines in making certain their workplace is clean for the safety of employees and community alike.
