The two reports of a police impersonator in Brown County that occurred shortly after Governor Evers issued the Safer at Home Order were deemed to be a hoax.
The two claims occurred on March 24th and March 25th, with the “victim” claiming a man approached them, asking for working papers.
The first “victim” confessed to police recently that the report was a lie, and the second also confessed their lies.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement, which says “While we are glad there is not an impersonator out in our community, as always the response to help has been overwhelming by the media and citizens, thank you. This is a serious job in a serious time, charges are being forwarded to the DA’s office.”
