Republican legislative leaders and Democratic Governor Tony Evers are enmeshed in an argument of buying additional personal protective equipment for health care workers.
Senator Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and Assembly Speaker Robin Vos are challenging what they call the governor’s request for a “blank check” for more than a half-billion dollars.
Both sides say the other is delaying.
The president signed the act Friday meaning $1.9 billion will be sent to Wisconsin.
Evers says he doesn’t need the Legislature’s permission and he has moved ahead with plans to buy 10,000 ventilators and one million protective masks.
