Mishicot Junior Kylie Schmidt received Honorable Mention recognition on this year’s AP Girls All State Basketball Team.
The 6-foot-junior is a three-year starter for Head Coach Mike Garceau as Schmidt and the Indians advanced to their first ever State Girls Basketball Tournament this season.
Kylie led Mishicot in nearly every statistical category including points-rebounds and steals and returns to a team next season that loses one senior from the starting lineup, that being Dakota Kreiser.
Other local and area players receiving Honorable Mention recognition include Senior Emma Wollert of Sheboygan Falls, Senior Ella Diny of Wrightstown, Junior Carley Duffney of Green Bay Preble, and Bayport senior Mackenzie Johnson.
Junior Jaddan Simmons of Green Bay Southwest made the second team, while Wrightstown senior Bridget Froehlke is on the third team.
Senior Lexi Donarski of La Crosse Aquinas is the AP Player of the year while her father Dave Donarski of Aquinas is AP Coach of the year.
