
On Wednesday, March 25 at 8:47 AM, the Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch Center broadcasted an Attempt to Locate message regarding a stolen vehicle from De Pere, WI. The vehicle was described as a white 2000 Ford F350 pick-up truck bearing North Dakota registration.
At approximately 9:00 AM, a Manitowoc County Sheriffs deputy observed the vehicle traveling westbound on USH 10 near Branch River Road within the township of Manitowoc Rapids. When the deputy attempted to perform a traffic stop, the operator, who was later identified as 24-year-old Luis Narvaez from Manitowoc, fled. Law enforcement pursued the vehicle for approximately 20 miles at speeds reaching 100 mph. The vehicle eventually stopped on Dickenson Rd near Wayside Rd in Brown County. Luis Narvaez was taken into custody without incident.
During a search of the vehicle, a pistol was located which Luis Narvaez admitted to being in possession of during the pursuit.
During the investigation, it was determined property that was originally in the stolen vehicle was missing. Investigators from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office obtained and executed a Search Warrant at Luis Narvaez’s residence. The stolen property was located and seized.
Bail was set at $2000 cash. Luis Narvaez is charged with knowingly fleeing an officer-felon in possession of a firearm-possession of stolen property-operating a vehicle without owner’s consent and bail jumping. Conditions of bail are that Narvaez report to the Sheriff’s Department for photos and prints. He remains in the County Jail with an initial appearance scheduled for Monday afternoon at 1:30.
