In response to the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Brown County Parks, in conjunction with WI State Parks, is temporarily offering a voluntary trail pass fee be paid by users of the Fox River and Mountain-Bay State trails. This voluntary trail pass fee means users can select to not pay the fee and still enjoy the benefits the trail has to offer without being in violation. Trail maintenance will be limited until social distancing requirements are lifted; this is in an effort to protect our park rangers and community members. Residents are well aware of the social distancing requirements and outdoor recreation has seen an influx of users.
Fees will temporarily be waived on the following state trails in Brown County:
o Devils River Trail
o Devils River Trailo Fox River Trail
o Mountain-Bay Trail
If you wish to continue to support the trails, fees may voluntarily be paid online at
www.browncountyparks.org . Trail envelopes are not in place for everyone’s safety.
Enjoy the fresh air and benefits of the outdoors while practicing social distancing.
“Our community is well-aware of the newly adopted social distancing requirements, and parks are a great place to escape the confines of our home or office” Parks Director Matt Kriese said. “Outdoor recreation allows residents to stay healthy, active and mentally strong through this process. A temporary trail pass fee waiver allows everyone to get outside without having to handle pass envelopes and limits staff interaction with the public.”
