Gordy Zastrow has announced he’s stepping down as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Manitowoc Lutheran High School. After a 3 and 20 record in year one, Zastrow’s teams compiled a 52 and 43 record over the last four years. Earning a WIAA Regional Playoff game during that span, capped with a share of the Big East North Division Title with Hilbert this past season.
In a news release, Zastrow states “Our plan five years ago was to generate interest for players to want to play basketball and put some fans in the stands. I believe we accomplished that. I want to thank all the players for their hard work and dedication, the fans and parents who supported me, the administration for its support and most importantly I want to thank God for making this all possible. Together we (coaches and players) strengthened each other’s faith as the Lord was first in everything we did.”
Scott Loberger-who serves as Athletic Director and Assistant Principal and assisted Zastrow in the last two years is the new coach.
