An incident involving a gun landed a child in the hospital on Monday. Police were reportedly called to a home on South 17th Street on a report of an injured child.
The victim had found a gun, which was loaded, and accidently shot themselves in the hand. The child was taken to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, while the man and woman, who were home at the time, are speaking with Child Protective Services.
Police are using this case to remind gun owners to make sure their weapons are in a safe place, out of the reach of children, and that the remain unloaded until you plan to use it.
