The Two Rivers Board of Education recently accepted the resignation of High School Principal Craig Rysticken.
District Administrator Lisa Quistorf discussed the situation with SeehaferNews.com and called Rysticken an amazing principal, citing his ability to work with the children, and the community. She also commented on the time commitment involved in being a principal, saying “People really don’t understand the amount of time and emotional energy it takes. At this point in his life, he would like to try something different.”
Quistorf commended Rysticken on his bravery to back away from a situation most would not. She said “Very often people get caught in something and they will do it because they have to financially…If you are able to walk out gracefully and respectfully at a time that you believe it’s no longer a fit for you, that is a blessing, because not everyone is able to do that.”
Quistorf explains that Craig helped in the remodeling process for his daughter Emilee’s opening of Scream’n Conuts ice cream shop last year. And, now he wants to be able to “do things he hasn’t been able to do during his time in school administration.”
Quistorf told us that they have posted for a new principal and the staff will interview candidates for a replacement.
The district administrator said Rysticken has indicated he’s hoping to stay in education in some way and will remain in our community.
