A Manitowoc mas was arrested after starting a fight with police officers who were attempting to arrest him on several active warrants.
A pair of officers went to the mans home in the 1200 block of South 16th Street to make the arrest and his roommates answered the door. After several failed attempts to get the 32-year-old to exit the residence, the officers entered the structure and confronted him in a hallway.
The officers continued to instruct the man to give himself up, but instead he made a fist and swung at the first officer, missing by inches, and swung again at the second, instigating a physical fight.
The second officer struck the suspect in the head and the suspect punched back, hitting the officer in the shoulder. Punches continued to fly until officers were able to get him on his stomach and get him into handcuffs.
The man was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Attempted Battery to Law Enforcement Resisting an Officer, Causing Soft Tissue Injury, and four counts each of Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
