The Mishicot Girls Basketball team is now just one win away from earning a berth in the WIAA State Basketball Tournament after their 50-49 win over Howards Grove.
The game was close all night, and thanks to a made free throw by Desiree Kleiman, and a put-back on the second attempt by Kylie Schimdt, the Indians entered the final seconds of the game up 50-47. The Tigers attempted a three pointer, but it fell short, allowing the Indians to hold on.
Schmidt had a great night, leading all scorers with 28 points, as Mishicot improves to 22-3.
Up next for the Indians is a matchup against the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights at Hartford Union tomorrow afternoon. Pregame coverage on 1240 AM WOMT and at WOMTRadio.com will begin at 3:45, ahead of a 4:00 tip off.
The winner of that matchup will earn their spot in the State Tournament at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
