A 15-year-old Green Bay girl is facing charges in relation to a fire that took place last June, which killed her 11-month-old nephew.
The fire occurred on June 7th, and while most of the people escaped, the victims told firefighters the infant was still in the home in the 2500 block of Wisconsin Avenue. The infant was located, but he had suffered severe injuries, and died later at a hospital.
Prosecutors are now saying that Marcelia Dolores Flora Fonseca started that fire, citing a lighter that was found in an upstairs hallway, and a matchbook that was found in the infant’s bedroom.
Marcelia was the one to first report the fire to her family members, according to witness testimony.
Marcelia told investigators that she started fires at other homes, including one in Milwaukee and that she attempted kill her sister when she was six by putting a pillow over her face.
Marcelia has been charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Arson, with her bond set at $250,000.
