A Sturgeon Bay police sergeant is being called a hero for risking his life to save a disabled man from an apartment fire last weekend.
When Sergeant Markus Tassoul arrived at the scene Saturday he was told about a disabled man who was still inside the burning building.
He went in, but couldn’t find him because Tassoul had been given the wrong apartment number. The sergeant went back in, found the disabled man who was unable to move – and got them both out, safely.
The department is sharing the story of bravery on its Facebook page.
