A St. Croix County jury has found a New Richmond man guilty of second-degree reckless homicide in his son’s death.
It was the second trial for 44-year-old Kayle Fleischauer. He was found guilty in the first trial, but the result was tossed out based on a claim of juror misconduct.
The defense had claimed 19-year-old Chase Fleischauer accidentally shot himself to death.
The younger man was visiting from his Minnesota home when the two apparently fought before the shooting. An autopsy showed Chase Fleischauer had suffered a skull fracture and was bruised during the incident in April 2018.
