The Milwaukee Brewers are said to be working on a contract extension with Christian Yelich that would pay him $215 million over the next nine years.
Multiple sources are reporting an agreement is close.
The 28-year-old Yelich has been among the best Major League Baseball players since he arrived in a trade two years ago. He was National League Most Valuable Player for the 2018 season and has hit .327 with 80 homers, 52 steals and 207 runs batted in.
With him on board, Milwaukee has qualified for the postseason two straight years for only the second time in franchise history.
