The State Assembly ended its latest session last week with a marathon session. We spoke with Representative Paul Tittl of Manitowoc, who said one of their sessions lasted a total of 15 hours.
Now that they are done for a while, Tittl said he is going to get back to “constituent work”. This includes creating a ledge council study committee. Tittl said that he may be chairing such a committee that will go around the state and talk to people about different subjects. He specifically mentioned Alzheimer’s and dementia as possible topics of discussion.
Tittl also chaired several on suicide and mental health, which lead to the creation of the State Suicide Task Force, which he is also in charge of. There is also an event coming up that Tittl is promoting. On March 12th, there will be Kids at Hope Seminar at the Holiday Inn. The Manitowoc Assemblyman explained that CASA is running the event, but if you cannot attend, you can call his office for more information.
During the last session, the Assembly created an interim license for psychologists. This license allows those who just graduated and received their Doctorate to have a license to help people while they accumulate the 1500 hours of post-education counseling required for a permanent license. Tittl said that this will get more people into the workforce helping people.
