The Plymouth City Council met on Tuesday to discuss and take action on a smoking ban ordinance, which they passed unanimously.
The ordinance disallows vaping in the same places that smoking traditional cigarettes were already banned. This includes schools, medical facilities, bars, stores, and any city owned buildings. Vaping and smoking are also not allowed near any entrance to a city owned building.
Those who violate the new ordinance will be hit with a $30 fine the first time, and a $100 fine the second.
These rules had been in place for traditional smoking since a statewide law was put into place in 2009.
