Earlier this week we reported that a man in Allouez called police after he claimed a man attempted to rob him at knife point but fled when he displayed his gun.
Now the Brown County Sheriff’s Office is saying that never happened, and that the man may be facing criminal charges.
Reports indicate that deputies are no longer searching for a robbery suspect and have referred the man who reported the crime to the District Attorney’s office for providing false information to officers.
While it is not clear how the Deputies came to this conclusion, we do know they had been looking through surveillance video from surrounding homes and businesses to collect information.
