Wisconsin Man Sentenced to Life for Killing Uncle on Fond Duc Lac Reservation

A Wisconsin man will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing his uncle on the Fond Du Lac Indian Reservation in northeastern Minnesota.  Thirty-four-year-old James Montano of Bayfield was sentenced to life without parole Monday for the April 2018 shooting death of 57-year-old Andrew Gokee of Wisconsin Rapids.  Montano was also sentenced to 15 years for shooting his uncle’s son, Hudson Gauthier, at Montano’s father’s house.
