A hot-shooting Providence team blew 19th-ranked Marquette off the court Saturday in an 84-72 Big East Conference contest.
It was the third straight defeat for the Golden Eagles who were led by Markus Howard’s 38 points. Marquette (17-9, 7-7 Big East) had 18 turnovers in the loss. Providence led by as much as 21 points in the second half.
The Golden Eagles advanced to the A-P Top-25 two weeks ago, but will likely drop out after three defeats in-a-row.
They host Georgetown Wednesday.
