Even though Glendale police officers were careful as they responded to a call about two unconscious people, one officer wound up requiring treatment for exposure to fentanyl.
The incident happened Friday morning. Officers on the scene say an unexpected burst of the toxic drug went into the air and the female officer required treatment at the scene.
Fentanyl is a painkiller 40-to-50 times more powerful than heroin.
There has been no report about what happened to the two people who were unresponsive on the scene.
