The City of Manitowoc has announced that Tina Prigge has been selected as the new President of the Manitowoc International Relations Association. Tina’s relationship with MIRA began 27 years ago when the Sister City relationship with Kamogawa, Japan was formed.
Tina will succeed Cindy Kaesermann, who has served as President since August of 2015. Kaesermann will return to her previous role as Vice President. In addition, the election of officers includes Secretary Lori Denk, Adult Exchange Committee Chair Debbie Gainey, and Student Exchange Committee Chair Kelly Meyer.
The Manitowoc International Relations Association (MIRA) acts as the liaison between the citizens and officials of the City of Manitowoc and the citizens and officials of the City of Kamogawa, Japan. The two Cities entered into a Sister City relationship under the leadership of former Mayor Kevin Crawford to encourage international understanding through a continuing program of educational, cultural, and economic exchanges.
