A 44-year-old Appleton man was taken into police custody Wednesday, after he was found to be in possession of child pornography.
Police were notified that Troy D. Meyer was sharing the illicit material on social media and executed a search of his home on the south side of the city. During the search, Appleton Police found “numerous images of child pornography”, and video evidence that he had sexually assaulted a child.
Meyer was officially charged with eight charges yesterday. Those charges include 1st Degree Child Sexual Assault with a Person under Age 13, Child Sexual Exploitation, and six counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
The investigation is still ongoing, but at this point, Meyer is facing up to 125 years in prison.
