A planned vote on Republicans’ proposed tax cut package in the Wisconsin Senate is being delayed on a procedural motion.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says he’s spoken with the governor about the G-O-P’s request for 392 million dollars in tax breaks. Fitzgerald says he discussed the components of the package with Governor Evers and “urged him to truly review the bill.”
Senate Minority Leader Jennifer Schilling and other Democrats pushed for a bill that would restore school funding that Republicans cut out of the state budget, which was a priority for Evers.
The Assembly will take up its version of the bill today (Thursday).
