State officials are working extra hard this week as the current session will come to a close at week’s end. Senator Andre Jacque of De Pere is one legislator that is trying to get several bill through.
Jacque said he attended the “Veteran Ready Wisconsin Summit” a couple days ago. “I always try to keep close relations with veterans groups,” he told SeehaferNews.com. “I have six or seven veterans bills going through the legislature right now.” One of those bills aims to help the spouses of veterans. Jacque explained that while the unemployment rate is very low in the state, that number for military spouses is “four times higher.”
On top of the bills he is trying to push through the Assembly, he also has three agriculture bills on the Senate floor, with a fourth related to manure composting expected to make it to the floor by the end of the week.
He also has some other bills on the schedule which are related to the Town Reform Package, which he says will save local governments and taxpayers money.
