According to a study conducted by AdvisorSmith, a national business insurance company, Sheboygan County’s manufacturing industry is among the top ten in the United States.
The study ranked 318 U.S. cities and ranked them based on how well the manufacturing industry is thriving in them, and Sheboygan was ranked number 5.
The study pointed to a pair of Brownfield Assessment Grants received from the USEPA totaling $700,000 as a major reason for their success.
Three counties in Indiana ranked higher than Sheboygan, with Elkhart County coming in first, while Columbus and Kokoomo Counties ranked second and fourth respectively. Rocky Mount County in North Carolina snagged the number three spot.
