
The current president of the Two Rivers City Council and longtime college history professor, Patrick Gagnon, died Saturday. He was 70.
Gagnon has been on the city council since 2015 and had earlier served on the Board of Education for 15 years from 1979-1994. Patrick was formerly employed as a professor of History at Silver Lake College, where he worked for 37 years, until retiring in 2013.
Meanwhile, City Manager Greg Buckley says the city council at its’ regular meeting tonight will act on a Resolution of Remembrance in Honor of council president Gagnon.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish in Two Rivers, with a Mass of Christian burial.
There is a visitation planned for 5-8pm Wednesday at the church and again from 10-until-10:45am prior to an 11:00 mass Thursday morning.
