In 1955, the National Association of Conservation Districts began a national program to encourage Americans to focus on stewardship. The 65th annual poster contest and stewardship theme for 2020 is “Where would we BEE without Pollinators?”
On display through April 5th at the Nevile Public Museum, are thirteen original pollinator-themed posters produced by area students (K-12) and submitted to the Brown County Department of Land and Water Conservation for judging. Brown County and regional winners were selected on the merits of theme, message, visual effectiveness, originality, and universal appeal. Pollinators form the foundations of a healthy and sustainable future for food and the environment, but in recent years, they have shown concerning signs of decline. It’s important that we work to help them prosper by enhancing native pollinator habitats and protecting against pollinator declines.
