War affects more than just the men and women firing the weapons. The people who live in the areas where the fighting is happening tend to be the forgotten victims in these conflicts, and a group of students at Oshkosh North High School are trying to help them.
As a part of a class project, a spaghetti dinner benefit was held last night with the funds raised going to help the children effected by the Syrian conflict. According to the International Network for Aid, Relief, and Assistance, seven out of ten children in Syria are right now living in conflict zones and the country is the number one conflict zone in the world.
More than 380 tickets were sold for the dinner, with the funds raised going to the INARA.
This is the fifth year in a row students at the school raised money for a cause, typically raising around $3,500 to $4,000.
