It’s no secret that law enforcement agencies have been struggling to recruit new members to the force.
A multitude of factors contribute to this, but the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department is attempting to draw some people in through their Citizens Academy.
Anyone 18 years of age or older can apply to participate. Those who decide to go through the Academy will learn the many facets of law enforcement by the use of hands on activities, while also learning why officers do things the way they do.
The Academy will start on March 5th, but applications must be turned in by March 1st. Applications can be found at SheboyganCounty.com, or in person at the Sheriff’s Office, located at 525 North 6th Street in Sheboygan.
