Senator André Jacque, of De Pere has publicized the recent announcement that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has granted a primary county disaster designation for 14 counties in Wisconsin, including all six counties within the First Senate District.
Relief includes Farm Service Agency (FSA) emergency loans for farmers impacted by the heavy rains the areas experienced from January through August of last year.
In a news release, Jacque spoke about the struggle’s farmers have been facing, saying “Excessive rain in our region only added onto those difficulties.” He went on to praise the U.S. Department of Agriculture, for their role in helping keep “our farmers and communities on their feet.”
Those effected may apply through early October of 2020, but farmers are recommended to apply as soon as possible.
