UPDATE: Bail hearing was delayed until tomorrow afternoon at 12:45. No specific reason was given by the court
A 22-year-old Manitowoc man is in custody charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child. Police arrested Ryan A. Sanders shortly after 9 a.m. yesterday. A Manitowoc Police Department Officer Responded to Aurora Medical Center late last Wednesday afternoon for a report of a sexual assault. The Officer was told by the victim that she and several friends were at a residence in the 2600 block of South 21st Street the night of February 4th where they met Sanders. He then allegedly said to the female victim that he wanted to “get with you.”
He allegedly had intercourse with her twice before leaving the house. Yesterday, Sanders confessed to police that he knew the victim was either 14 or 15 years old and that he’s victimized other teenage girls. Sanders is scheduled to appear in Manitowoc County Circuit Court for a bail hearing at 12:45 this afternoon.
Meanwhile, authorities are asking if anyone has information regarding the identities or whereabouts of other alleged victims to call MPD Detective David McCue at 686-6570 or Crime Stoppers at 683-4466 where you may choose to remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
