The Chamber of Manitowoc County held their annual Awards of Distinction Banquet at the Capitol Civic Center last night, and ten members of the Chamber were honored.
The Safety, Health, and Wellness Award was granted to Orion Energy Systems, while Felician Village and Holy Family Memorial were granted the Collaboration Award for the Lakeshore Memory Clinic.
The Collaboration Award is presented to the Manitowoc County project, activity or event for its progress, success, innovation, and contribution to the community.
The Non-Profit of the Year was won by The Haven of Manitowoc County. Michael Etheridge accepted the award, and was also gifted a $1,000 check by Van Horn Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram.
This year’s Volunteer of the Year was awarded to John Ashenbrener from Sign Me Up Outdoor Advertising, While the Chamber honored Wisconsin Fastener Supply as the Small Business of the Year.
The Large Business of the Year Award was given to Lakeside Foods, another feather in their cap after their massive expansion on South 30th Street in Manitowoc.
Amber Daugs of Grow it Forward was quite emotional when she accepted her Young Professional of the Year Award, as was Kathy Zucchi when she was honored with the Athena Award. Zucchi jokingly called it an “obituary award”.
Bonnie Proszenyak from Manitowoc Lincoln High School was granted the Education Impact Award, and rounding out the night, Lakeside Foods CEO Glen Tellock was called back on stage to accept the Joseph P. Schmidt Speak Up Award.
Over 450 people attended the annual awards banquet.
