Lakeland University now has a former Green Bay Packer running back on their staff as a coach, but not for a football team.
Ahman Green has been named the first-ever coach for their newly implemented eSports program.
Green told reporters that he has always been a gamer, and after his retirement from the NFL, he continued to play games, and became involved in the eSports community.
Green and his co-ed team will be members of the National Association of Collegiate Esports, and will compete in games like League of Legends, Rocket League, and Super Smash Brothers.
An existing 3,000-square foot space on the southwest portion of its campus is being renovated to house a practice facility for the team.
