Texas-based Enbridge is starting the permitting process to re-route its pipeline in northern Wisconsin to move it off tribal land.
Line 5 carries up to 23 million gallons of oil and natural gas each day from Superior to a plant in Sarnia, Ontario.
The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa filed a lawsuit to have the company shut down and remove the pipeline from its land.
