The Oshkosh Police Department has identified the suspect in the stabbing case that resulted in a former Police Captain’s death.
28-year-old Ian Suzuki has been charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, and Misdemeanor Battery with a domestic abuse assessment.
According to police reports, Suzuki and Jay Puestohl had gotten into an argument which resulted in Suzuki going into the kitchen, grabbing a knife and stabbing Puestohl.
The police were called by a woman who was also in the residence, and when they arrived, they found Suzuki standing near Puestohl, who was half lying on a couch with a stab wound to his neck.
He later died at a local hospital.
Suzuki remains in the Winnebago County Jail with his bond set at $500,000.
