Update: Bail is set at $10,000 cash for 38-year-old Christopher R. Gulseth. He is charged with Child Enticement and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. Conditions of bail are that Gulseth has “no contact” with the victim or anyone under the age of 18 and has “no use” of the internet or any internet-enabled device. He remains in the County Jail with his initial appearance scheduled for February 17th at 1:30.
A 38-year-old Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly sent explicit messages to a child.
According to the police report, an unnamed student in the Manitowoc School District contacted the school resource officer on January 2nd and informed them that they had received messages from the suspect starting back in November.
The victim explained that the man was friends with her father and that the messages quickly turned sexual.
A complete record of these conversations were handed over to the police, and they note that the man was aware of the victim’s age.
The police then received permission to take control of the victim’s messenger account and arranged a meet up with the express intent of engaging in sex.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Child Enticement, and Use of a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime.
